<< CANopen protocol stacks with LSS Fastscan <<

Version 1.1 of their CANopen Slave and Master stacks is released. The latest feature of the stacks is the support for Layer Settings Services (LSS) to handle node-Id assignment and the configuration of the bit rate via CANopen as defined in CiA 305. Among the LSS functions the detection and addressing of new unconfigured devices is the main task. Besides the traditional LSS scan mechanism, the new LSS Fastscan service is supported, which is recommended for new CANopen implementations by CAN in Automation e.V. (CiA). Using the new LSS Fastscan services unconfigured devices can be detected much faster and the start-up of a dynamic CANopen network is accelerated significantly.

The CANopen Slave Basic version is meant for the development of small CANopen Slaves with basic functionality.
The Master/Slave version can be used to develop sophisticated CANopen slave or master applications with all features defined in CiA 301 . The new LSS services are included in the scope of delivery of the stacks without additional costs. Customers that are within the update period get this feature free of charge.

To ensure that the products meet the current state of standardization emotas is member of the CiA. As already in the passed years the software developers of emotas are active in various working groups of the CiA to participate in the development of the CANopen specifications, especially CiA 301, 302 and 305.
